ADAM STAVISS | GUITAR

about adam...

Born a true musician on June 23, 1980 in Toronto, Adam first developed his love of music when he picked up the recorder in grade one. He quickly advanced from the recorder’s basic sound to the piano and then the trumpet. Adam soon realized that these instruments didn’t fill a void of expression looming inside his soul. He sensed a better way to transmit his feelings through another instrument.

After years of searching, Adam found the drums and began hammering away to the wonders of Nirvana’s Dave Grohl, Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward and Rush’s Neil Peart.

With a previous band, Adam got his first taste of playing live shows. He was on top of the world as he quickly realized his love for being on stage. After almost two years with that band, Adam formed a second band. Using his experience, he helped the band play bigger and better shows including opening for well-known bands American Hi-Fi and Treble Charger.

Despite the fulfillment he gained from the drums, Adam knew that they were not his calling. He soon realized the guitar was his best form of musical expression.

Adam taught himself to play on his uncle’s electric guitar. He eagerly anticipated visiting his uncle in Montreal every few months, and would be filled with disappointment when he had to return home to Toronto. Adam knew he needed his own guitar.

Unfortunately, the chemistry of Adam’s previous bands faded after a couple of years and the group members decided to go their separate ways in 2001. Adam used this as an opportunity to focus on his guitar skills. This begun his quest to find the best band in the world.
